Unfortunately, the star last night was the stadium and its food vendors, not the Mets. Even the cat came in second. To me, baseball should still be about the team, a collaborative effort of individuals to create something that exceeds the sum of their statistics and capabilities. It is about management, strategy, and performance, not about the facilities in the locker rooms, the corn and clam chowder, or the lines at the bathrooms. At the current prices, I expect I will attend fewer games at Citi than I did at Shea.
